Whitfield Sleep Disorders Center is a nationally accredited program with 20 years of experience in diagnosing and managing sleep disorders. Our highly trained team includes Dr. Geoffrey Lipscomb who is board-certified in neurology and sleep medicine.
Dr. Lipscomb received his medical degree from University of Alabama Birmingham and his residency was at Spartanburg Healthcare System in Spartanburg, South Carolina and works together with our experienced staff, who are proficient in evaluating and diagnosing a range of sleep disorders and providing patient education. The team works with each patient to manage obstructive sleep apnea; excessive daytime sleepiness; snoring; restless leg syndrome; parasomnia; narcolepsy; shift work sleep disorder; and various other sleep problems.
During a sleep study, monitors are attached to various parts of patient’s body that provide information about their sleep quality, number of sleep disturbances, heart rate, limb movement and breathing. A few days after a sleep study has been completed, our clinical sleep educator and manager of the Whitfield Sleep Disorders Center, Craig Schumacher, will contact the patient to implement the best treatment plan for their diagnosis.
